Fashion Student to Business Owner
Amber Aramini, previous fashion student and retiring owner at Sierra Belle Boutique in Reno, NV has dominated the fashion industry locally and is now expanding to a new career and life path. Graduating from fashion school in Los Angeles to moving back to Reno, all Amber wanted to do was run her own business and she did just that.
Taking over as manager in 2020, fashion has been huge part of Amber’s life. After moving back home from L.A., Amber got a call from Sierra Belle’s previous owner during the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic to take over as the new owner. Taking over as the owner during this time, Amber says, “I was 22 and was struggling, it was hard for me, I've never run a business before and it was new to me.” Having to train employees and to be the leader was new for her, but despite the pandemic Amber had the best numbers in revenue for Sierra Belle at the time and was just what Sierra Belle needed at the time businesses were failing. The hardest thing to her was being a boss at a young age, but Amber quickly got the hang of it and worked out for her in the best way possible.
With Sierra Belle’s target buyers, Reno customers intend to purchase basic items like workout clothes, accessories, and staple tops. With all of these popular items and more being displayed across the business’s socials, Amber’s best friend Gabby Clark, helped her out and ran the social media account on Instagram for the first year. What makes this retail business stand out is their dominating social media presence that has blossomed over time and with hard work, After a year, Amber decided to take over the account and managed all things social media. Juggling the social and shop presence, Amber could do it all. Recently, she decided to tackle the next step in her life, and Sierra Belle is now under a new owner, Hope Triplet, since March 1st of 2022.
Born and raised in Reno, NV, Amber studied at SDSU for a year and transferred to FIDM Fashion School in L.A. “I worked at Sierra Belle in highschool so it all came full circle for me,” Amber says. In March, Amber taught Hope the ropes with owning a successful business here since her departure from running Sierra Belle. Amber realized her time in Reno has come to an end. However, she plan to move out of Reno in the next few months and has taken the time since to traveling and focus on a new journey ahead for her. “I can’t do both sadly, with wanting to move from Reno and continuing on with Sierra Belle.” With a new ownership, Sierra Belle Boutique is still the staple in fashion in the Northern Nevada area. The shop has various events as well as amazing sales to get you hooked on a new, fun wardrobe.
